Justyna Mielnikiewicz
Fotogiornalista classe '73. E' nata in Polonia e vive in Georgia, a Tbilisi. Tra le sue esperienza fotografiche ci sono reportage, ritratti, fotografia sociale e documentaristica.
Tra 1999-2000 ha lavorato per il
Gazeta Wyborcza (quotidiano nazionale) affiliato con
Agora Photo Agency. Nel 2000-2001 è passata poi ad un settimanale,
Przekrój Magazine per dedicarsi in seguito ad un documentario ("The Boot Factory") con Lech Kowalski. Dal 2001 è una fotografa freelance e lavora al progetto ”Walking the Caucasian Chalkline”.
Justyna ha vinto diversi premi:
-2002-Second Prize at Santa Fe Center for Visual Arts Project Competition.2002 for “Walking the Georgian Chalkline /USA
-2002 Honorable Mention (together with a writer Paul Rimple) at Dorotea Lange/ Robert Taylor Prize- for “Walking the Caucasian Chalkline” /USA
-2002-“Young Portfolio 2002”Competition (at Kiyosato Museum of Photographic Arts)
-2002 -finalist of Polish Press Photo /exhibition / Poland
-2002-second prize photo competition “Female Life” /Poland
-2002-recived travel grant (for Caucasian Project) from Europen Cultural Foundation/Holland
-2003-finalist / catalogue / exhibition of 7th Agfa Young Photojournalist Award /Germany
-2003-second prize in Newsweek Photoreportage Competition 2003 / http://newsweek.redakcja.pl/newsreportaz/k2m2.asp
-2004-took part in VII photo / Altemus sponsored workshop for 16 young photojournalists from East, Middle Europe, Balkans, Turkey, Ukraine and Caucasus area being only representant of Cauasus
-2005 July – Caucasus Project Presentation during International Photo Festival in Arles –France -that time represented by COSMOS agency
